Faeries, Dreams & Other Friends Lyrics

1) HALF MOON RISING
(Elaine Silver; last verse by Faerie LeMoon)

Chorus:
There's a half moon rising tonight
A half moon shining so bright
Filling me up with half moon light
Half moon rising in the sky
We're a family of Faerie sprites
All beautiful beings of light
Dancing around in the half moon night
Half moon rising in the sky
Chorus:
Faerie wings and Faerie flight
Lift us to our heart's delight
Soaring through the half moon night
Half moon rising in the sky
Chorus:
We teach peace and harmony
With movements of Infinity
We beseech thee come and see
The half moon rising in the sky
Chorus:
There's a new moon rising tonight
Though she's hidden from sight
Still filling me up with new moon light
New moon rising in the sky
Chorus:
And there's a blue moon rising in style
Filling me up and making me smile
She comes around but once in a while
Blue moon rising in the sky
Chorus:

2) PUFF THE MAGIC DRAGON
(Peter Yarrow & Leonard Lipton)

Puff the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honalee
Little Jackie Paper loved that rascal Puff
And brought him strings and sealing wax and other fancy stuff
Chorus:
Oh, Puff the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honalee
Puff the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honalee
Together they would travel on a boat with billowed sail
Jackie kept a lookout perched on Puff's gigantic tail
Noble kings and princes would bow when e're they came
Pirate ships would lower their flags when Puff roared out his name
Chorus:
A dragon lives forever but not so little girls and boys
Painted wings and giant rings make way for other toys
One gray night it happened Jackie Paper came no more
And Puff that mighty dragon he ceased his fearless roar
His head was bent in sorrow green scales fell like rain
Puff no longer went to play along the cherry lane
Without his lifelong friend Puff could not be brave
So Puff that mighty dragon sadly slipped into his cave
Chorus:

Little Jackie Paper has now become full grown
He's married and he has a son and daughter of his own

Puff comes out to visit them and they begin to play

(Traditional; Arranged by Elaine Silver)

Chorus:
Waterbound and I can't get home
Waterbound and I can't get home
Waterbound and I can't get home
Down to North Carolina
Chickens crowin' in the old plow field
Chickens crowin' in the old plow field
Chickens crowin' in the old plow field

It rained all day and it rained all night
It rained all day and it rained all night
It rained all day and it rained all night
Down to North Carolina

Me and the children goin' home
All the kids are goin' home
Down to North Carolina

4a) FAERIES ARE GATHERING
(Sweet Pea Faerie, a.k.a. Suzanne Keith; Tooth Fairie, a.k.a. Sharon Brackelmanns, D.M.D.)

Faeries are gathering
Together as one
We've landed on this planet
That circles 'round the sun
We know that our mission here
Has only just begun
We beseech you
We're here to teach you
Global Harmony

Faeries are standing
Side by side
Wings outstretched
With hearts open wide
Drawing in the power
From the moon and the tide
We beseech you
We're here to teach you
Global Harmony

A Faerie's work is never done
This world must re-arrange
There's magic near
Let's bring it here
It's time we made a change

Faeries are awakening
The memories within
Look inside and realize
Just where it will begin
Join the Faerie Movement
For we are all akin
We beseech you
We're here to teach you
Global Harmony

4b) INFINITELY FAERIE
(Faerie LeMoon of the Sacred Herbs, a.k.a. Kim Lemmon)

Chorus:
Infinitely Faerie
We're Infinitely Faerie
We're old and wise
There's no surprise
We're Infinitely Faerie
We're Infinitely Faerie
Yesterday remembers
You gaze into the embers
And see the Planet is hurt
They disrespect your mother
With litter, war, and other
Harmful ways to hurt the Earth
But it's a chance to see your worth
As a Helper on Planet Earth
Chorus:
If just for today
You live the Faerie Way
We'd have Earth Helpers all at work
You cry for revolution
The Earth has a solution
Revolution is a new day's birth
Another chance to see your worth
As a helper on Planet Earth
Chorus:
Discovering tomorrow
The Earth is ours to borrow
Leave it better than when we came
It's our duty and our honor
After all we walk upon her
Let the healing of the Earth begin
Join forces with the Faerie kin
As a Planet Earth Helper again

5) A FRIEND IS
(Elaine Silver, Joanne Capatides, Dennis Dougherty)

Chorus:
A friend is someone who cares
Who listens and plays and shares
Adventures every day
In a very special way
When we go to our magic world
Every boy and girl
Can fly through the sky
On a marshmallow pie
Topped with an ice cream swirl
And in that magic land
That shines of silver sand
We can be anything
From a frog to a king
In a pink parallelogram
Chorus:
And in our magic place
We see smiles on every face
The toys come alive
The kids all can ride
In a rocket to outer space
And in our magic town
The teachers dress like clowns
We can stand on our hands
Mexico is Japan
Right side up is upside down
Chorus:
Make time for friendship
Take time to open your heart

6) KUBIANDO; GREEN BLESSINGS
(Faerie LeMoon of the Sacred Herbs, a.k.a. Kim Lemmon)

Chorus:
Kubiando!
Green blessings from Faerie LeMoon
Come hurry come soon
It's almost full moon
When the moon is the brightest
The heart opens widest
Come fly and be with us
In the light of the moon
Teaching Global Harmony
Here is Sweet Pea; a Faerie is she
The graceful one
Beholden to none
Transformed by the light of the moon
A heart that's pure this Faerie is sure
The planet can heal; magic is real
If love is the way
Then hear what I say
And love in the light of the moon
Chorus:
Faeries follow the moon as a guide
Feeling the tide rising inside
Our home is the Earth
Remember your birth
To be born in the light of the moon
Faerie Elaine of the Silver Stream came
With her Echoes of Light; voice of a sprite
With Faerie ears
She listens and hears
The words that we sing to the moon
Chorus:
The topic is teeth; I'll keep it quite brief
Let go of your fear; the Tooth Fairie's here
With a wave of her wand
Your toothache is gone
So happy you smile at the moon
Chorus:

7) FLOWERS FLOWERS
(Elaine Silver)

Flowers flowers just for you
Pretty colors pink and blue
Shining in the evening light
Wishing you a good good night
Flowers flowers white and red
I will bring some to your bed
Loveliest things I've ever seen
Hope they bring you sweet sweet dreams
Good night
Good night
Sweet dreams
Flowers flowers purple and green
And all the colors in between
A rainbow in your hands to hold
And flowers are the pot of gold
Good night
Good night
Sweet dreams
Flowers flowers just for you
Pretty colors pink and blue
Shining in the evening light
Wishing you a good good night

8) L.O.V.E.
(Linda Arnold; Additional lyrics by Elaine Silver. Permission granted.)

Chorus:
L.O.V.E.
There's a lot of love inside of you and me
L.O.V.E.
There's a lot of love to share
Although love is invisible
You can see it everywhere
You can see it in a smile
You can see it in a hug
You can feel it when you care
Chorus:
Now don't forget to love yourself
Each and every day
The more we learn to love ourselves
The more we have to give away
Chorus:
We can show our love for Mother Earth
At least three times a day
Recycling, re-using things
And picking up garbage and throwing it away
Chorus:
Now Mother Earth is calling out
And asking won't we please
Help her to regenerate
By planting lots of trees
Chorus:

9) THE TEDDY BEARS' PICNIC
(Words by Jimmy Kennedy, Music by John W. Bratton)

If you go down in the woods today
You're sure of a big surprise
If you go down in the woods today
You'd better go in disguise
For every bear that ever there was
Will gather there for certain because
Today's the day teddy bears have their picnic
Chorus:
Picnic time for teddy bears
The little teddy bears
Are having a lovely time today
Watch them catch them unawares
And see them picnic on their holiday
See them gaily gad about
They love to laugh and shout
They never have any cares
At six o'clock their mommys and daddys
Will take them home to bed
Because they're tired little teddy bears
Every teddy bear who's been good
Is sure of a treat today
There's lots of marvelous things to eat
And wonderful games to play
Beneath the trees where nobody sees
They'll hide and seek as long as they please
Cause that's the way
Teddy bears have their picnic
Chorus:
If you go down in the woods today
You'd better not go alone
It's lovely down in the woods today
But safer to stay at home
For every bear that ever there was
Will gather there for certain because
Today's the day teddy bears have their picnic
Chorus:

10) HOUSEFUL OF FAERIES
(Elaine Silver)

I opened up the cupboard and what did I see
I saw a tiny Faerie
In a cup and saucer meant for tea
Sat that little tiny Faerie
Oh what's your name and who could you be
That little sprite she said to me
"My name is Emily and I am the keeper of the tinctures and the teas."

Then I opened up the freezer and what did I see
I saw another little tiny Faerie
He was wearing a scarf, a hat and gloves
And he was sending out wishes of the warmest love
Oh what's your name and who could you be
That little pixie said to me
"My name is Jeremy
Jeremy Faerie of the deep deep freeze."

Into the backyard moonlight I couldn't help but stare
The loveliest of Faeries was dancing there
She whirled and she twirled and she glided through the air
So full of love which her dancing helped to share
Oh what's your name and who could you be
"Athena of the dance is what they call me.
When I lift my wings my feet don't touch he ground
And it makes all the children sing the sweetest sounds."

Later on that evening as I crept into bed
I lifted up the pillow upon which I lay my head
There slept a beauty so little and so small
A sleeping Faerie and the tiniest of all
Oh what's your name and who could you be
In a tired voice that Faerie said to me
"My name is Dulcea of the Dreams
I bring in night time's power and I bring in moon beams."

I've a houseful of Faeries and a heartful of love
Evenings filled with dreams from celestials above
Faeries love to sing to dance and to share
And when you hear them ringing bells it shows just how much they care
Oh, what's my name and who could I be
I am Echoes of Light Faerie of the Silver Stream
Warm and tender blessings go from me to you
Your listening to my song fills me up with gratitude

12) THE BLUE AND GREEN (Bonus Track on CD only)
(Elaine Silver)
Chorus:
We all live on the blue and green
Prettiest planet you ever have seen
Soaring through the heavens on a blue green dream
We all live on the blue and green
Blue and green
We're the generation
Pivotal creation
We hold a key to a free flowing
Feeling of elation
We're the generation
Bringing transformation
Open up and see
We're a family
And we can be free
We can all be free
Chorus:
We're a celebration
Feed the population
We hold a key to a free flowing
Lifted up vibration
Share appreciation
It's an affirmation
Open up and see
We're a family
And we can be free
We can all be free
Chorus:
